QUICKTRIM The innovative QuickTrim self-tailer makes it easy and safe to ease rope tension for small sail trim adjustments without having to remove the winch handle or take the rope out of the self-tailer. Racers can adjust instantly with minor changes in wind direction or steering, giving an unmatched advantage when frequent sail trim adjustments are needed. It is also a welcome convenience for cruising sailors.

On the water, QuickTrim is intuitive to use. With one hand on the top cap, rotate counterclockwise to ease the grip on the rope so you can make quick adjustments. When you let go of the top cap, it springs back and grips the rope to resume normal use. This simple, reliable function is a major benefit for frequent, small trim changes.

As supplied from the factory, the Orbit 50QT operates as a traditional two-speed self-tailing winch. The QuickTrim function is easily activated by removing a single screw located under the self-tailer cover. Step-by-step instructions are included in the supplied Quick Reference Guide, which is delivered with the winch and in the product manual.

TOTALLY TOOL-FREE Full disassembly and reassembly can be carried out completely without tools. To remove the drum, pull back the spring-loaded release pawl and a slight counterclockwise rotation will allow the self-tailing arm to be lifted off the winch. The drum can then be removed from the winch's center shaft. When reassembling the winch, an audible click confirms that the self-tailing arm is in place on the center shaft.
