This CO alarm is designed to detect harmful levels of carbon monoxide (CO), a gas that cannot be smelled, tasted or seen, and is therefore difficult to detect without alarms. Carbon monoxide can be produced by incomplete combustion, and typical sources on your boat are diesel heaters and engines.
