The Nasa gas detector is a safety instrument that detects dangerous gas levels in your boat. It consists of a sensor, which is placed low down, and an alarm unit that warns of potential explosive mixtures of gas and oxygen.

It does not take much to ignite the gas. A small spark can occur when turning on a lamp or simply starting the engine, and that can be enough to trigger an explosion. Another serious problem can occur when you are sleeping and inhale the gas; it can be fatal. The NASA gas detector is a simple instrument, consisting of a sensor unit placed low in the boat, and an alarm and control unit placed centrally. The sensor detects when the mixture of oxygen and gas approaches the lowest explosive point and sends a signal to the alarm unit, which sounds the alarm.
