To transfer the engine's power to propel the vessel with as little vibration and noise as possible, you need the correct size engine mount. Shore indicates the hardness of the damper. 55 is usually suitable for most engine installations, but there may be situations where you want a softer or harder mount. Talk to your marine mechanic about which hardness will suit your boat.
Calculate which mount you need: When you need to calculate which mount you need, you must think about where the center point is in the engine installation. So it is often the case that you need 2 sets with different hardness. It is the weight of the entire installation including oil and water, and it is better to choose one that is slightly too soft than one that is too hard.
