ULTRAFLEX steering cables are made of plastic-coated R/F steel with a steel inner cable and stainless steel push arm. Resistant to ultraviolet light and saltwater. The cable type and length are always printed on the outer cable. The length is in feet (305 mm) and is measured from the mounting point in the steering unit to the end of the push arm halfway extended.

Example A (Fig. 1) Length = A+B+C minus 10 cm for each 90º bend + 30.5 cm for mounting on the engine. E.g.: A = 50 + B = 250 + C = 80 minus 20 cm for 2 x 90º bends = 360 + 30.5 cm = 390.5 cm 390.5 cm : 30.5 = 12.8 ft. So a 13 ft cable should be chosen

Example B (Fig. 2+3) Length = A+B+C minus 10 cm for each 90º bend. E.g.: A = 50 + B = 250 + C = 80 minus 20 cm for 2 x 90º bends = 360 cm 360 cm: 30.5 = 11.8 ft. So a 12 ft cable should be chosen
